The APM association has set itself the goals of reaching at least 50 schools and 20 communities to raise awareness about period poverty, and distributing at least 13 sewing machines to facilitate practical training in the manufacture of reusable and washable sanitary pads. APM has also set itself the goal of providing entrepreneurship training to empower Burundian women and girls by enabling them to sell the reusable and washable sanitary pads they have made themselves.

With $1,000 in funding, APM can purchase at least two machines, fabric, and other logistical supplies to train at least ten young girls to sew menstrual pads.
With $2,500, APM can manufacture menstrual pads and distribute them to at least 200 vulnerable young girls.
With $5,000, APM can help more than 500 young girls overcome menstrual insecurity.

In 2025, we were able to reach 267 young girls and also raise awareness among more than 1,300 girls about menstrual hygiene, sex education, and the fight against gender-based violence, in collaboration with other organizations.

The funds raised will be used in two ways: part will be allocated to practical training, teaching at least three schools and a center for albino girls how to sew menstrual pads; another part will be devoted to community mobilization on the fight against menstrual insecurity and the empowerment of young Burundian girls.
